The first Saturday of February was an eventful one for many of our Breakers who attended the long-awaited Winter Ball! This year’s theme, a Great Gatsby Masquerade, was very well received and inspired many students to dress to the nines, with flowy dresses, suits, masks, and much more. Before the dance, leadership hosted an event at Lover’s Point where students got the opportunity to take photos with their friends next to the water. There was a high turnout at the park, and Lover’s Point was very crowded as everyone lined up to take pictures.

The venue, Bayonet and Blackhorse, with its elegant location and outdoor space was widely liked by many students and has proven to be a popular venue in past years as well. For those who hadn’t purchased masks ahead of time, leadership provided a wide selection of options at the door. There were some technical issues with the sound system during the dance, however they were quickly resolved thanks to the help of students. The snack options were also very good, one favorite among dance-goers being the macarons, which were cleared out by students within forty-five minutes of the dance commencing. Many students were excited to find that there was a photo booth, being so popular that it had a line for the entirety of the dance. Some criticized that the dance, being only two hours long, from eight to then, could have been an hour longer. Overall, the winter ball was a hit everywhere from the theme, to the outfits, to the photo booth. It was a night to remember and a great success. Thank you to leadership and everyone else who made such a special night possible!
