Audrey Hepburn was an actress and Audrey Hepburn was born on May 4th, 1929. While being an amazing actress, she was also a fashion icon. Audrey Hepburn was a Belgian born British actress and humanitarian. Although born in Belgium, Audrey Hepburn had British citizenship through her father and attended school in England as a child. As a teenager, Hepburn studied ballet in Amsterdam and London. During her early 20s, she studied acting and worked as a model and dancer. Audrey Hepburn starred in her first major American film called “Roman Holiday” in 1953. She won an Academy Award for her role and appeared in many more films after. One of her most famous roles is as Holly Golightly in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” Audrey Hepburn went into semi-retirement in the late 60’s, devoting herself to help those in need. In 1988 she started a new career as a special goodwill ambassador for the United Nations Children’s Fund. One of her most famous quotes is, “I speak for those children who cannot speak for themselves, children who have absolutely nothing but their courage and their smiles, their wits and their dreams.” Audrey Hepburn died January 20, 1993.
