The Naked Gun (2025) is a funny reboot of the classic comedy series. This time, Liam Neeson plays Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., a clumsy detective who has to stop a high-tech crime while dealing with many over-the-top villains. The movie has lots of silly jokes, crazy and unrealistic situations, and even a few surprise cameos that keep it fun to watch.
Liam Neeson does a great job playing it totally serious while everything around him is the complete opposite, making the movie even more hilarious. The first half of the movie has a lot of good laughs, with sight gags and puns that remind you of the original films.
The second half of the movie isn’t as strong, and a few of the jokes fall flat or feel repeated. Still, it’s an entertaining movie if you just want to laugh and not take things too seriously. Fans of the old Naked Gun movies will still enjoy this one.
Overall, this movie has a mix of new and old comedy styles. It may not be perfect, but it shows that the Naked Gun series still has life in it for a new generation of viewers. If you’re looking for a lighthearted movie night, this is one worth checking out.
