On October 4th, 2025, Pacific Grove High School transformed the Multipurpose Room into a lively dance floor for this year’s Homecoming Dance. Students from all grades filled the room with high energy and excitement, ready to celebrate a weekend full of school spirit.
Just a day earlier, PGHS witnessed an incredible win against NMC in football, dominating the team by a huge margin. Earlier that same morning, the annual Butterfly Parade filled the streets, boosting the sense of community throughout the town.
Unlike previous years, there wasn’t a set theme for the dance, so everyone showed up in their best outfits, ranging from formal dresses to creative, stylish fits. At first, the DJ kicked off the night with crowd favorites like “Dancing Queen” and “California Gurls.” But after a few mismatched remixes, the energy started to fade. Some students admitted they were a little disappointed by the early song choices.
Then, halfway through the night, everything changed. The DJ made a comeback with a wave of classic dance hits and even threw in a slow dance near the end, and the crowd loved it. “At first, it wasn’t great at all,” one student said, “but by the end, it was unforgettable.”
After a week filled with spirit days, the pep rally, and the big Homecoming game, the dance was the perfect way to wrap up the celebration. Whether it was dancing with friends, posing for pictures, or snacking by the punch table, everyone found a way to make the night their own. As the lights dimmed and the music faded, students left with sore feet, full hearts, and memories of a night that truly lived up to the hype. Pacific Grove High’s Homecoming 2025 will definitely go down as one for the books.
