We all know our favorite police officer, Officer Hill. She always has a smile and is making sure we are safe at school. However, Officer Hill didn’t always want to work in the police force. Growing up, her father was a police officer but she wanted to try to do her own thing. Not sure what she wanted to do, Officer Hill went to many different colleges including San Francisco State and CSUMB. She worked in sales and finance but still was not sure if she was happy with her job. It wasn’t until Officer Hill worked as Coast Guard for 4 years before she decided to become a police officer. After missing the thrill of helping others, at age 28 she decided to take the chance and apply to become a police officer here in our beloved town, Pacific Grove. She went to the Police Academy in San Jose for six months, waking up every morning at 4am to get to San Jose Police Academy by 7am. Now, Officer Hill has been with the police force for 5 years in Pacific Grove and she loves her job. Police officers are protected by law, so we know that sometimes her job may be scary but she is safe. Fun fact about Officer Hill! She has a twin sister and a half brother. She also has four pets! She has two dogs and two cats who she loves very very much. Also, she doesn’t have a police dog yet but is hoping for one soon although they cost a million dollars! Maybe one day in the future.
