Pacific Grove High School’s annual Fall Sports Week arrived during the peak of the sports season, bringing with it a mix of school spirit, creative outfits, and a rally that ended the final week of the quarter with a bang!
The week kicked off on Monday with USA Day. Students dressed in red, white, and blue to show their patriotism and school spirit. Tuesday introduced a new theme with Salad Dressing Day, where each class dressed to represent a different salad dressing. Freshmen repped Blue Cheese by wearing blue, Sophomores wore togas/all white to represent Greek Dressing, Juniors embraced a country theme for Ranch, and Seniors showed up in topical attire for their Thousand Island-themed outfits.
Wednesday took a turn with Frat vs. Sorority Day. The halls were filled with students wearing backward caps, loose ties, and oversized shirts to show their inner Greek life.
On Thursday, students dressed to rep their sport for the rally, where the Golf, Cheer, Cross Country, Tennis, Water Polo, Volleyball, and Tennis teams each spoke a little bit about their athletes and season so far. Most teams reported impressive season records as they head into the final weeks of the league. The rest of the rally featured exciting games where students ran, dove (and slipped!) their way to earning class points for the spirit week. At the end of the rally, the Freshmen and the Seniors were tied for points requiring a class cheer-off to determine the winner. Ultimately, the Seniors came away with the victory once again to complete the second spirit competition of the year.
The week wrapped up with Pink Out Friday, where students dressed in pink to show support for breast cancer awareness, and ready to depart for the break.
