“Baseball has always been my passion since I was a little kid,” states senior Brody Edmonds. “I’ve put everything I have into it.” His hard work has paid off. Brody committed to play baseball at Santa Clara University, a choice that reflects his strong dedication to the sport. For Brody, baseball is everything he has worked towards, and he has continually invested time, effort, and focus into it. 

As a determined pitcher, Brody has spent many years perfecting his skill. He said that while touring the campus of Santa Clara University, he immediately felt a connection. “When I first stepped on campus, it felt like home, and I knew right then and there that SCU was the place I wanted to spend the next four years.” 

Another major factor that influenced his choice was the environment created by the coaches and players. “I decided on Santa Clara University due to the love that I felt from the coaching staff and the team.” Baseball is also something that brings Brody a sense of calm, especially on the pitcher’s mound. “When I’m pitching I’m at peace.” Brody’s genuine love for the sport is especially noticeable in the way he approaches every practice as an opportunity to improve. “​​Trying to get better every single day and trying to perfect your craft is what I also love about it.” 

Brody Edmonds has poured years of effort and determination into baseball, and his recent commitment shows how far his hard work and dedication will take him. Looking back on what has helped him get to where he is today, Brody says, “I really just want to thank my parents for always supporting me in what I decide to do. Without them I wouldn’t be close to the position I’m in today.” With his commitment to Santa Clara University, Brody is ready to take the next step in the sport he has loved since childhood.
