Last weekend Lucia and I, Jessica Bradford, tried out the restaurant Manasiris Crepes and Sandwiches. We had seen the “Tiramisu Latte” on our social media feeds, and we were curious to try it out. The restaurant is located on Alvarado Street in Monterey, by Taco Bell.
As soon as we walked in, we saw a sign for the “Tiramisu Latte”, along with other popular drinks. Upon ordering, we discovered that it was $11, which is a high price to pay for something that small. After we ordered, we took a seat outside and we got the drink fairly quickly. Atop the latte was a piece of tiramisu about the same size as the width of the lid. The tiramisu itself was good, and it had a moderate level of sweetness and a good amount of cream. Unfortunately, as Lucia and I got further into the dessert, it started disintegrating into the latte, and the pieces sunk to the bottom. As for the actual coffee itself, there was a lot of ice and it seemed to be just a regular latte. The coffee was good, but it did not have any flavor besides coffee. Overall, the “Tiramisu Latte” was very good, but we would really only recommend it as a once in a while treat due to the price point.

Another item we tried at Manasiris was their crepes, as that is what the restaurant is mainly known for. We decided on a strawberry Nutella crepe for $13. Again, that is pricey for a simple food like a crepe, but we still choose to try it out. Once our food came out, the first thing we noticed was the presentation of the crepe. It had Nutella drizzled on top with a little whipped cream shaped in a fun design. Inside of the warm crepe were fresh cold strawberries and a layer of Nutella. The combination between the Nutella and strawberries worked perfectly to complement one another, and it was not too sweet and a little savory. The more we ate though, the more overwhelming the amount of strawberries were. In the end, we had to eat the strawberries by themselves because there were so many. The crepe is definitely a good breakfast item if you are looking for a local semi sweet treat.
All in all, Manasiris Crepes and Sandwiches is a good place to try if you are looking for something a little different than what we have here in Pacific Grove. The place seems a bit more tourist centered, explaining the high price point. Prices aside, the food itself was good, and we would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a delicious local crepe place!
