Many have fallen under the influence of using AI, especially in education. AI has spread quickly among both students and teachers at a fast rate. While there are positive impacts, there are also very serious concerns regarding the usage of AI. A news report from Center for Democracy and Technology has proven that around 85% of teachers have used artificial intelligence, and 86% of students have done the same in recent years of 2024-2025.
The positive impacts that withstand from AI include allowing students to learn at their own pace and correct any mistakes in any work. When a student has trouble on a problem in math for example, they can be fearful of asking for help. So, instead of asking a teacher, they will lean more towards AI because it gives examples and goes into depth of the issue without even speaking. Also, a student or teacher may want to see if they have made a mistake or want to make an improvement in their lesson, or in any given work and AI will provide the answer to those questions.
However, artificial intelligence can cause a disruption in research skills, critical thinking, and creativity along with causing more opportunities to cheat and perpetuate bullying. Students can be lazy at times and just want the answer without knowing how to even do it, which becomes an issue for the future if the knowledge is actually needed, like for a test. Apps like Sora AI give people the ability to make fake videos of others by only using a picture of that person. This could be extremely dangerous among others because it could cause controversy, fights, and bullying.
Overall, AI has the potential to be useful, but also has many negative impacts. People should utilize AI less, try to learn lessons themselves in class, and ask as many questions as possible to save themselves and others.
